

Horizons is a local dinner group that brings speakers with diverse experiences, expertise, lifestyles and interests to educate, entertain and 'broaden the horizons' of its members.


About Us
COST
Our Membership fee is $50 per year (payable each May).
Members pay for their meal at each meeting, the current cost is $45 per person.
WHEN
We meet six times per year, on the third Tuesday of February, March, May, July, September and November. Each evening starts with a catered dinner, followed by a talk by our Guest Speaker.

WHO
Created especially for women, Horizons is an all-inclusive Dinner Group, welcoming women, young and old alike, from any ethnicity and any walk of life. Young adults, working mums, empty-nesters, single or partnered, you will all find a welcome here,along with an open invitation to meet new people, swap ideas, stories and expand your circle of acquaintance.
WHAT
Horizons offer our members a glimpse into the fascinating lives of our speakers.
They come to educate, entertain and inform you. They may speak of things they've invented, or tell you about their unusual occupation, or explain their overwhelming
passion for....
well, you'll just have to wait and see!
Invariably, they will pique your curiosity and extend your horizons.

New Members
Before joining, visitors are welcome to attend Horizons Dinner Group as guests for a maximum of two meetings.
To nominate a new member, a nomination form must be completed by the nominator, who must be a financial member, and by the nominee.
Membership forms are available from the Secretary.
Guests & Visitors
From time to time, a meeting may be advertised as a 'Partner's Night'. On these occasions members are most welcome to have their partners attend with them.
Members may invite friends or colleagues who have a special interest in the speaker.
Members are encouraged to invite friends, colleagues
and acquaintances, who may be prospective new members, to a Horizons meeting.
Names of all visitors, and any dietary requirements, must be received by 9am on the Friday prior to the meeting.

A Little Bit of Housekeeping
APOLOGIES
An Electronic Newsletter is sent to all members prior to each meeting.
Contact details for the acceptance of apologies, notification of dietary requirements,
names of visitors, etc. are shown in the newsletter.
Apologies and/or the names of any guests must be received by 9am
on the Friday prior to each meeting.
If no apology is received for a meeting,
the member will be invoiced for the cost of the meal.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Financial Members may apply for a Leave of Absence.
This should be made in writing to the Secretary.
RESIGNATIONS
Resignations can only be accepted from CURRENT financial members.
These must be in writing to the Secretary.
